Load-bearing structures project shows technically correct solutions of a certain type of construction that is intended to be performed. The design of the load-bearing structure is harmonized with the corresponding architecture design project of the building , both in terms of the intended materials for the construction, and in terms of construction materials, shapes, dimensions and design actions necessary for normal construction functioning necessary for the normal function of the building. Load-bearing structure design should meet all technical regulations and standards that apply to a particular structure.
LOAD-BEARING STRUCTURES PROJECTS - STAGES:
I. PHASE I – conceptual project - This phase includes conceptual construction design based on project task, defining solution concept, and choice of construction material in collaboration with architectural designer. It includes: basic construction solutions and elements for the main project design,determination of basic loads, simplified calculations of bearing capacity and stability, determination of the basic type of construction, determination of approximate ranges and dimensions of the structure, determination of basic construction products and estimation of construction costs.
PHASE II – Main project - Main project is consisted of technical description of the structure, quality control and assurance program, accurate definition of load, calculation of load-bearing capacity, usability and stability of the structure as a whole and individual building elements, making position plans, dimensioning of all load-bearing structure elements, defining materials and all mechanical and physical characteristics. The main load-bearing structure project is an integral part of the main projects designs necessary for obtaining a construction permit.
PHASE III – Detailed project – The detailed project refers to detailed elaboration of the main project in relation to other professions. It is consisted of: construction drawings/plans with instructions for installation of pre-finished construction elements, reinforcement drawings/plans, metal constructions drawings/plans, woodwork drawings/plans, and other construction details required for construction, workshop drawings/plans for metal and timber structures, element drawings/plans for pre-finished reinforced concrete or prestressed parts, formwork plans, etc. Detailed lists of required materials with quantities (e.g. steel, or reinforcement) are made too.
