Building Physics Design

Building physics design for thermal protection and energy renovation of buildings

We prepare building physics designs for new buildings, reconstructions, adaptations, energy renovations of existing buildings and other interventions on existing buildings. The design covers thermal protection, rational use of energy, noise protection, acoustic properties of the building and other requirements related to energy efficiency, comfort of use and technical correctness of the building.

AREAS AND CALCULATIONS

thermal protection of the building
rational use of energy
energy efficiency of the building
thermal bridges
condensation and water vapour diffusion
building energy performance certificate
noise protection
acoustic properties of the building
building acoustic properties certificate

DOCUMENTATION AND INTERVENTIONS

building physics design
thermal protection calculation
rational energy use calculation
water vapour diffusion and condensation calculation
noise protection and building acoustic properties design
sound insulation calculations
energy renovation of existing buildings
coordination with other design sections

The building physics design addresses requirements that affect energy efficiency, thermal comfort, noise protection, acoustic properties and durability of the building.

As part of the design documentation, the required calculations are prepared for thermal protection, rational use of energy, water vapour diffusion, noise protection and acoustic properties of the building. Depending on the type of intervention and project requirements, a building energy performance certificate and a building acoustic properties certificate are prepared.

During preparation of the design, external walls, roofs, floors, ceilings, openings and other elements of the building envelope are analysed. Thermal properties of structures, the possibility of condensation, the impact of thermal bridges, the level of noise protection and compliance of the designed solutions with applicable regulations are checked.

The building physics design is prepared as part of complete design documentation and coordinated with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and other discipline designs.

BUILDING PHYSICS DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

Thermal Protection and Rational Use of Energy
The design addresses the thermal properties of building elements, building energy requirements, heat losses, envelope properties and solutions that achieve rational use of energy.

Protection Against Moisture and Condensation
The behaviour of building elements in relation to water vapour diffusion, the risk of surface or interstitial condensation, and technical solutions that reduce the possibility of moisture and damage are analysed.

Noise Protection and Acoustic Properties of the Building
The design addresses requirements for protection against airborne and impact noise, sound insulation of building elements and acoustic properties of the building, depending on the intended use of the space, structural elements and prescribed technical requirements.

Energy Renovation of Existing Buildings
For energy renovations, the existing condition of the envelope, thermal properties of building elements, possible thermal bridges, condition of windows and external doors, and measures that can improve the energy efficiency of the building are analysed. Design solutions are coordinated with the technical possibilities of the existing building, investor requirements and applicable regulations.
